The first draft is finished and off to my alpha reader. Once it comes back to me, I will do what I need to in order to make it better. My second book has been drafted, and I am almost finished with the first quarter of it while I wait on the other one to come back. I found that I could not sit still long while waiting, so I went right to work on the next one. I think that might happen again at the end of the second one, too. I hope I don't have six first drafts done before I get back around again!
What I have found out is that I like the characters enough to spend more time with them. I think that's normal for writers to do that. I don't know; this is my first journey into this side of writing, so we shall see.
Meet Lil.
Her full name is Lilith A. Crawford. A for Anne, of course. She writes the police blotter for the local little newspaper, the Micco Minute. She wants to write feature stories, but her absolutely atrocious boss won't let her. Between her conflicts with her boss and her convoluted feelings about her ex-husband, the last thing she has time for is a murder. Or a hurricane, for that matter. These things and more test her anxiety disorder to the max as she exposes secrets that could help her heal. With her job always in jeopardy and her love life in disarray, can she solve the crime before she loses everything?
